Dear Archipelago Friends and Network teams,
In two days you will be leaving for Pisa. The weather is very
'Mediterranean': temperatures of 35° C. are forseen during our meeting.
So please bring your 'summer clothes'.
We certainly hope to have a very good meeting heat, or no heat.
We know that the Archipelago is the best place for sharing, exchange and
synergies, across the Greater Humanistic Area.

is now in 'Pre-final version. We will be having
welcome speeches, a key-note address, special TN presentations,
reports, discussion and a round table in Plenary session. Another
part of the meeting will consist of work in discussion groups,
where we hope that each person will give a contribution based
on both his/her personal experience and on the particular ways
that her/his Thematic Network looks at the issues connected with the general
theme "Im/Emigration
and Mobility in European Culture, Society and Citizenship".
Several participants have written to tell us that they wish to
make a presentation on a specific topic. And maybe others wish to do so
but have not written (please do so if this is your desire).
We know that this is a busy time for everyone, but hope that
everyone will take a minute before leaving for Pisa to write down what
particular contribution their Thematic Network makes, in their opinion,
to understanding the Im/Emigration and Mobility issue.
As you can see from the programme we plan 5 work groups, focusing
on 1) Immigation (to Europe); 2) Emigration (from Europe), 3) Mobility
within the EU; 4) teaching/learning about
Im/emigration and Mobilty; and 5)Im/Emigration and Mobility as
regards Images of Europe.
Also each group will examine and discuss other issues, plans
and recommendations for the future of the Archipelago.
If you have a particular preference for the work group you want
to participate in, could you please tell us now? The numbers will not
be entirely rigid, but we hope that they will all be more or less of the
same size. So please if you have strong feelings about this, let us know
beforehand.
For the rest, we look forward to seeing you in Pisa on 29 June.
