ENHSA
04-11-2004

The European Network of Heads of Schools of Architecture (ENHSA) aims to create a support framework for European schools of architecture to aid their integration in the European Higher Education Area. According to the project, Heads and Academic Program Coordinators undertake to coordinate a series of academic activities (allocated to the appropriate teaching staff). The purpose of the project actions is to establish an academic dialogue and to collect valuable information on the burning issues of contemporary architectural education in Europe such as: the compatibility of studies and diplomas awarded, the formation of a broadly accepted set of competences and criteria for the definition of quality in architectural studies and research; the facilitation of the mobility of students through the ECTS development in architectural studies; the improvement of the mobility of staff and ideas between schools; the preservation of the identity and the unique characteristics of each school in its given social, cultural, academic and legal context. Through its action (meetings, conferences, workshops, inquiries and publications) the network invites schools of architecture to anticipate their European future collectively and to collaborate on the definition of targets, aims, objectives, values and strategies for their academic development in the European Higher Education Area.
