HumanitarianNet has been envisaged to advance
the work of universities in the field of Humanitarian
Development, in all their activities and projects,
including teaching, research, fieldwork, discussion, and dissemination.
Humanitarian Development is a relatively new
academic field which brings together a range of interrelated
disciplines, including sciences and humanities, to analyse the
underlying causes of humanitarian crises and formulate strategies
for rehabilitation and development.
The transversal lines of action to which this thematic network
encompass humanitarian assistance, human rights, poverty and
development, migration, and peace and conflict studies.
The network counts on a wide and diverse institutional profile,
including 87 universities, 6 research centres and no less than
9 international organisations, which form the mobilisation and
gathering capacity of the network. |
