The Legal Framework for the Information Society
(LEFIS) is a Network of Universities, Research
Centres, Public Institutions, Associations and Firms which
are involved in drafting legislative proposals, carrying
out research and development projects, and introducing –
in Law Faculties as well as in other high education centres
(Management, Public Administration, Information and Communication
Technologies and Engineering Schools and Faculties) –
graduate and post-graduate studies aimed mainly, but not
exclusively, at jurists, covering the wide range of problems
which are
posed by the regulation and implementation of Information
and Communication Technologies Law (ICT Law).
The members of LEFIS are based in almost all European
countries, in the USA, Russia, as well as in several Central
and South
American countries.
The main activities of LEFIS are:
[1] Development of a non profit association with the interested
members of LEFIS.
[2] Development of a common web site (a portal) on common
teaching, products and research and development activities.
[3] Organization of annual Workshops and Conferences on the
most important topics on regulation of the ICTs in each
participating
country.
[4] Ellaboration of new teaching modules for graduates and
undergraduates in law, social sciences and computing/engineering
students.
[5] Establishment of nationally delivered European Masters
and teaching modules with a common core.
[6] Publication of comparative analysis reports and books.
